instead of
God’s thoughts.
They limited their understanding by thinking
that Jesus was speaking of the temple in Jerusalem
that had taken 46 years to build. They
had no idea He was speaking of His own body,
and they did not consider the possibility of
Jesus being resurrected from the dead.
Jesus said, The things which are impossible
with men are possible with God (Luke
18:27). Jesus let the disciples know before He
ascended into Heaven that they could have the
same power He had through the Holy Ghost.
Then through Resurrection power, Jesus was
taken up in a cloud into Heaven; and the
people at that time couldn’t see Him anymore.
While they beheld, he was taken up; and a
cloud received him out of their sight (Acts
1:9).
You Must Have the Holy Ghost
Earlier, Jesus had let the disciples know that
He must depart from the Earth so the Comforter,
the Holy Ghost, could come. Nevertheless
I tell you the truth; It is expedient for
you that I go away: for if I go not away, the
Comforter will not come unto you; but if I
depart, I will send him unto you (John 16:7).
About 120 people went to the Upper Room
and received the baptism of the Holy Ghost.
And when the day of Pentecost was fully
come, they were all with one accord in one
place. And suddenly there came a sound
from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind,
and it filled all the house where they were
sitting. And they were all filled with the
Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other
tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance
(Acts 2:1,2,4).
It is very important to receive the Holy Ghost
because He is the one who will guide you and
teach you, and He will be your Comforter in
time of need. The Holy Ghost will draw souls
to you so you can witness to them and lead
them to the Resurrection power that will set
them free from the bondage of sin. Then they
can go on to receive the baptism of the Holy
Ghost so they can make the one flight out.
Resurrection Power Can Be Yours
Do you believe in Resurrection power for
your life? Do you even believe that it exists?
The Bible says, But I would not have you
to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them
which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as
others which have no hope. For if we believe
that Jesus died and rose again, even so them
also which sleep in Jesus will God bring
with him. For this we say unto you by the
word of the Lord, that we which are alive
and remain unto the coming of the Lord
shall not prevent them which are asleep.
For the Lord himself shall descend from
heaven with a shout, with the voice of the
archangel, and with the trump of God: and
the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we
which are alive and remain shall be caught
up together with them in the clouds, to meet
the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be
with the Lord (I Thessalonians 4:13–17).
Resurrection power will open the graves of
those who have died in Christ, and they will
rise to meet Jesus in the air. Then all of us who
are full of the Holy Ghost will also rise to meet
Jesus in the air. That may sound impossible to
you, but it’s true.
Will you be ready when the trumpet of the
